Allergen Food Safety Legislation

Taken from The food Standards agency website

Food safety is very important for childcare because children are a vulnerable group.

This means children can be more seriously affected by food poisoning and food allergy than some other groups of people.

On the 13th December 2014 new EU legislation is coming into place that means all food businesses (including childminders) need to provide information about the allergenic ingredients in food.

I use a system called Babysdays for my childminding business  and I create a weekly menu that is changed over a two week rota.

This is available to parents of the children I care for along with an allergens poster and further information regarding food hygiene.
